Day 16 - Light

12.12.17 | Advent by Joe Dascenzo

    Warm-Up
Pray: “Jesus, You are a light in this world. Even when you were on Earth, You declared this to many even though they did not believe. Just as the pillar of fire led the nation of Israel through the wilderness, Your light in my life leads me. As a child of God I am wired to live in the light and not darkness. And that light doesn’t end with me, I want that light to shine through my life and lead people to You."

    Round 1
Read Numbers 9:15-17 and 1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 and WRITE OUT John 8:12.

    Round 2
Make a list of 3 things you don’t need in your life OR Make a list of 3 habits you need to break OR Make a list of 3 things you can do to help you walk in the light.

    Round 3
Look at your calendar you filled out at the beginning of 30 Days. Determine what family events, friend events or work events are still coming up. Pray about how you will be a light at those events. Circle those dates on your calendar and plan to be an encouragement to the people you will interact with at those times.

    Burnout
In John 8, the comments Jesus makes are during the Feast of Tabernacles which included lighting giant lamps in the women’s court in the temple. The light illuminated the temple area and the people gathered to sing praises and dance. It was a time to remember all God had done for them. Set a timer on your phone to go off every three hours today. When the timer goes off, pray this: “God, you have made me a  child of the light and a child of the day. I don't belong to the night or to the darkness. Thank You for this truth." Pray for an opportunity to share this truth with someone today.
