Day 19 - Your 2AM Friend

    01.26.18 | by 40 Day Team

    Warm-Up
Pray: “Lord, thank you that You did not design us to go through life alone, but from the beginning of time knew we needed community, others to walk through life with us, encouraging us in the ways You have instructed us.  Thank you that You call us to bear one another’s burdens and gently correct when correction is needed.   I’m grateful for those you have placed in my life to sharpen me.  May my heart be softened and my ears ready to hear when spiritual mentors speak Your truth into my life.”

    Round 1
Read Genesis 2:18, Galatians 6:1-10, Proverbs 17:17 & 27:17. Choose one passage to write down.

    Round 2
Write down the name of the person you would call (or did call) if the following situations happened to you. If you don’t have a person you can write down, leave it blank.

You receive a major job promotion: ______________.

Your first baby is born: ______________.

    You get engaged: ______________.

You have a major decision to make: ______________.

    You lose a close loved-one: ______________.

You are struggling with a difficult situation: ______________.

    You have a crisis at 2am: ______________.

Which ones are blank? Ask God to bring someone into you life that could be that person for you.

    Round 3
Listen to the song “Make Us One”.

    Burnout
Make a plan to spend time with a trusted friend, mentor, or family member this weekend. When you are with them, ask them this question: “What is like to be on the other side of me?” Allow them to give you feedback on how you are living your life and what areas of your faith that may need some attention.

*Go back to Day 4…How’s your book reading going?  What you have learned?  How are you growing?
