Day 29 - Generosity
Warm-Up
Write this down: “If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area in his life.” — Billy Graham. Think about this quote and how it could relate to you.
Round 1
Read: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
Round 2
Pray: “God, help me to see the money I earn as provision from you. Rid me of entitlement. Help me to live open-handed with my money, returning tithe to you and offering additional money. Let this demonstrate my willingness to surrender to you my treasure, trusting in your provision."
Round 3
Write down three people, causes, or organizations you will give money to this year. If you are needing some ideas, consider the following options:
Globally:
Blood Water Mission
Hope for Justice
Heartline Ministries
Domestically:
Reclaim 13
Alpha
Association of Related Churches
Burnout
Write out Matthew 6:24: “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
