Day 32 - Pastors

    02.08.18 | by 40 Day Team

    Warm-Up
Pray: “Heavenly Father, thank you for the spiritual guidance you provide my church through my pastors.  You have called them to serve this body and lead us.  Pastoring a church is NOT an easy role.  Thank you for how you are using them to help further the growth of your Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.  Holy Spirit surround them and fill them with your love, knowledge, caring, wisdom, and discernment.”

    Round 1
Read 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 and Exodus 18:21-22.  Write down as many of the qualifications for pastor/overseer as you can find.

    Round 2
Your church is blessed to have a pastor or pastoral team. Each week, they put time, effort, and energy into seeking God’s will, mission, and vision for Second Place. They truly seek to follow God with all they do and to guide you in the truth and light of His Word.

Spend the next 5-10 minutes praying for your pastor or pastors by name, thanking God for the work they are doing at your church.  Also, pray for their family that supports them in the roles that they are doing.

    Round 3
Do you know your pastor(s)? If not, take the time to meet them this coming weekend.  If you know them, what can you do this week to let them know that you value their efforts at your church? Maybe writing them a note, sending a text, taking them for coffee, bringing them coffee or a treat.  Spend time praying that God would reveal to you what you can do to let them that you appreciate them and how God is using their gifts and talents for our church.

    Burnout
Every day for the next week, take the time to pray for the pastor(s) of your church and their families.  Set a daily alarm on your phone [best option] or pray for them before each soul workout you do.
