Day 5 - Quiet
Pray: “Lord, my life is busy! I have a lot going on. I want to confess that I honestly can’t be happy for very long unless you become my source. Help me discipline myself to find the springs of spiritual life in my soul—that I can only find through calm and quiet. I want more calm and quiet in my life! Now help me slow down…
Go for a 10-minute walk. Try to avoid man-made sounds. If it is cold outside, bundle up. Set a timer for 5 minutes and listen for your voice in two ways: What most concerns you and what is your plan for those concerns?
Set a timer for another 5 minutes and listen for God’s voice in two ways: What is he directing you to do? And what will you do to follow His lead?
Plan ahead to take three 10 minute QUIET breaks today. Look over your day and determine when you can take those breaks. During those breaks, try to find a place where you can simply be silent. Bonus points if you can find a place that is natural and away from humans!
