Significance is found when we serve others and see that our story part of a story bigger than just us. We can make a difference in the life of someone across the street or around the world.
Our mobilization team is focused on finding ways for all of us to serve locally and globally.
Serving at Second Place
Opportunities to serve within the warehouse are abundant—from serving on the weekend to mid-week projects to event planning.
Second Place serves the local area through coopeative efforts between the Village of Monee and the Monee Alliance of Churches inspired by a shared love for the community and its residents. The goal in these efforts is to provide a helping hand by clothing those who are in need, bringing healing to the sick and feeding the poor.
Second Place defines missions to be any outreach endeavor outside our local fellowship to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel of Christ around the world and addressing the needs the total person and community—spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially.
Global Mission Trips
Every year, Second Place sends teams around the world—including Kenya, Haiti, and Guatemala.
Second Place has given thousands of dollars to bring clean water to people through our partner Blood/Water Mission.
In 2014 Second Place created the Run For Their Lives 5K to fight against human trafficking.
Second Place partners with Christian Missionary Fellowship International to provide micro-financing in Nairobi, Kenya.
